About the Bookstores

In the early 1990’s the Friends of the Temecula Library (FOTL) determined that there was a need for a little store where they could store, sort and sell all the used books donated to the library.  Temecula Valley citizens contributed a substantial sum towards the construction of the bookstore that was opened in April of 1994.  The bookstore was a success from the beginning.

Our original bookstore was so successful that when Temecula’s new library facility was planned, naturally a second bookstore was included in those plans.  In December 2006, the FOTL officially became the Friends of the Temecula Libraries, and our second bookstore was opened.

The success of the FOTL bookstores has always been due to the generous donations of books from the community and the work of our dedicated volunteers.  All net proceeds from book sales at our two stores go to the libraries to provide extra services, materials, equipment, programs and enhancements.

Our stores stock a wide variety of hardback and paperback books (both fiction and non-fiction), DVD movies, music CDs, CD audiobooks, puzzles and games (GMCL only) and so much more.

We Accept Donations

Do you have a collection of books gathering dust on your bookshelves, or that your children have outgrown?  Share your favorites with others by donating your gently used books to the FOTL Bookstores.  All proceeds from their sale go to Friends of the Temecula libraries to support the library programs and materials.

If you have books or audiovisual media in good condition that you would like to donate, please call in advance to assure that we have room to accept it.  We do not accept periodicals, VHS or cassette tapes, or Reader's Digest Condensed  books.

The Grace Mellman Community Library FOTL Bookstore is at the rear of the Grace Mellman Community Library located at 41000 County Center Drive in Temecula.   The Temecula Public Library’s FOTL Bookstore is at the front entrance of the Temecula Public Library located at 30600 Pauba Road in Temecula.
